HCL Notes Application Development
HCL Notes application development has been an important part of my work at INECO since 1996.
Over the years, I have developed, adapted and maintained many different HCL Notes applications.
HCL Notes offers a wide range of possibilities. I am happy to think along with you about what is possible and translate your requirements into a practical solution that fits your organisation.
My starting point is simple: an application should do what you need it to do, be pleasant to work with and be easy to maintain.

General Software Development
Although developing and maintaining HCL Notes applications is still my main area of work, I am increasingly asked to help with software development outside the HCL platform as well.
I can help with that too. I have experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, including C# and VB.NET, as well as web technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS. I also work with other programming languages, including Python.
In practice, this can involve adapting or extending existing Visual Basic applications, developing websites, themes and plug-ins in PHP, developing applications in Python, or solving problems in existing source code.
You can find more information on General Software Development.

Remote or on-site administration
Not every organisation needs a full-time Domino administrator.
In a large environment, Domino administration can be a full-time role, while in a smaller environment, a few hours per week may sometimes be sufficient.
That is why I like to look at what your environment actually needs.
Administration can be provided remotely or on-site, on a regular basis or whenever needed.
We can agree on either an hourly basis or a fixed number of hours. Support is also available through a support contract.
The underlying infrastructure too
In larger organisations, HCL Domino administration is often separated from the management of the underlying infrastructure.
For example, a system administrator or infrastructure team may manage the Windows or Linux server, storage and network infrastructure, while the Domino administrator focuses on Domino and Notes.
In smaller organisations, these responsibilities often overlap.
My core activities are HCL Domino administration and development, but where practical, I can also support you with the administration of the underlying systems and infrastructure.
More information can be found under INECO – General System Administration.
HCL Domino Consultant
As an HCL Domino consultant, I help organisations with technical challenges, implementations and improvements related to HCL Domino and HCL Notes.
I don’t just look at the technology. I focus primarily on what your organisation actually needs.
Ultimately, my advice should contribute to your organisation’s objectives and result in a solution that works in practice.
My specialisation is HCL Domino and HCL Notes.
Thanks to my broad experience in IT and software development, I can also think along with you and provide support with other technical challenges.
How can I help you?
Depending on the situation, I can help with, for example:
- Analysing IT systems and infrastructures
- Identifying and analysing security risks
- Diagnosing system problems and identifying inefficiencies and weak points
- Designing and implementing technical solutions
- Assessing existing and emerging technologies
- Translating user and organisational requirements into technical solutions
- Project planning and technical guidance
- Working together with internal IT teams and transferring knowledge
- Training and supporting employees in the use of systems and software
- Monitoring and evaluating implemented solutions

Agile

Since around 2015, I have gained extensive experience with various disciplines within the Scrum framework.
Since 2020, I have been certified as a Professional Scrum Master II (PSM II) and since 2021 as a Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I).
As a Scrum Master, I help teams work together effectively, remove impediments and continuously improve.
I facilitate Scrum events, coach team members and help create effective collaboration between the development team, the Product Owner and other stakeholders.
My technical background is an important addition to this role.
I understand the technology and the challenges development teams face, which allows me to easily bridge the gap between technology, the organisation and the product.

As a Product Owner, I focus on creating maximum value for the product.
I help translate wishes and requirements into clear priorities and concrete results.
My goal is not to apply Scrum simply for the sake of Scrum, but to genuinely improve collaboration and the development process.

INECO Support Contract
No Domino specialist in-house?
Not every organisation needs its own HCL Notes or HCL Domino specialist. But when something goes wrong, it is reassuring to have someone you can call who knows the technology and understands how your environment works.
With an INECO Support Contract, you have an experienced specialist available when you need one.
You are not just buying technical support, but also availability and continuity. Time is reserved for your organisation, and support contract customers receive priority when scheduling work.
The benefits
- Availability – time is reserved for your organisation.
- Priority – support contract customers receive priority when scheduling work.
- Lower support costs – support covered by the contract is more cost-effective than ad-hoc support.
- Discount on additional work – depending on the contract, you may receive a discount on work outside the contract.
- Flexible support – support can be provided remotely or on-site.
- Broad support – the contract is not limited to HCL Notes and HCL Domino. By agreement, I can also help with other ICT-related issues within my area of expertise.
Since 2015, my support contracts have therefore not been limited to HCL Notes products. This allows me to tailor the service to what your organisation actually needs.
A support contract that suits your needs
You can choose from different forms of support, both remotely and on-site. The two can also be combined.
For example:
1 hour of remote support + 8 hours of on-site support

How does the support work?
You can report questions and incidents by email or telephone.
During office hours, the response time is a maximum of 4 hours. Within that time, I will let you know that the incident is being handled.
A normal incident will be resolved within 48 hours or, if that is not possible, escalated. If an incident needs to be escalated, I will discuss the expected time frame and any additional costs with you beforehand.
This is a response time and a target for resolution, not a guarantee that every technical problem will be resolved within 48 hours.
The practical arrangements
A support contract should above all be clear and practical. Therefore, there are a few straightforward rules:
- Different contract types can be combined.
- Hours for remote support cannot be carried over to the following month.
- On-site support hours can be accumulated up to a maximum of 4 days per month.
- Accumulated on-site hours can also be used for remote support.
- Unused hours are not refundable.
- Work outside the contract is charged at the applicable hourly rate, with a minimum of one hour per incident. This will always be discussed with you beforehand.
- I will determine, in consultation with you, whether a request or activity falls within the scope of the contract.
Holidays, illness and availability
A support contract is provided on a best-effort basis. I therefore cannot guarantee that every problem will be resolved within a specific time frame.
If I know in advance that the agreed response time cannot temporarily be guaranteed due to, for example, holidays or illness, I will let you know as soon as possible. Where possible, I will offer an alternative.
This could mean temporarily involving another specialist or deducting the affected period from the invoice.
Contract period and invoicing
A support contract has a minimum term of six months.
After that, either party can terminate the contract with one month’s notice.
Invoices are issued monthly in arrears.
Don’t need a Domino specialist for a full week?
That’s perfectly fine.
A support contract can be particularly useful for smaller organisations. You don’t need to employ a specialist for a problem that may only occur a few times a month. Instead, you have an experienced specialist available when you need one.
And because I work across development, administration and consultancy, I can look beyond simply fixing a technical problem.
A problem with an application? I can investigate it.
A Domino server that needs attention? I can help.
An old application that needs to be modified? I can work on it.
One point of contact for your Domino environment.
